Phnom Penh Google Map Boundaries

Just noticed this today. Anyone know if this is correct or what they might be referencing? Anyone know how Google Maps derives a boundary? This seems off… (Bold pink + dotted line – screenshot 1 August 2012)

  1. Do you mean that it’s too large? In fact the territory of Phnom Penh is even larger, after 20 communes in Kandal were transferred to the capital territory in late 2010. See http://www.phnompenh.gov.kh/news-20-communes-from-kandal-officially-joined-phnom-penh-capital-485.html and the official new map here: http://www.phnompenh.gov.kh/photos/detail-photo/new-ppmap-with-signuture-129108944339651.jpg
